In light of trump taking on affirmative action in colleges that supposedly “discriminate against whites”, let me fuckin tell y'all somethin: BLACK 👏🏾 PEOPLE 👏🏾 DO 👏🏾 NOT 👏🏾 GO 👏🏾 TO 👏🏾 COLLEGE 👏🏾 FOR 👏🏾 FREE 👏🏾 JUST 👏🏾 FOR 👏🏾 BEING 👏🏾 BLACK. I can’t speak for other minorities but I’m 99.9% sure it’s the same way for them too. colleges aren’t just gonna go like “oh wow look at this blackie! you’re in! no charge!!”…… we ain’t getting shit. now, depending on the school, there are scholarships that give us an opportunity to talk about our race and the struggles that come with it, but that sure as hell don’t mean we getting in for free. matter of fact, a lot of prestigious universities lack diversity, especially with black and brown folks. top schools tend to have only 3-10% black and latinx students. depending on the state, America tends to have a 18-34 point gap in the amount of black people who have degrees vs the amount of white people who do. for example, in California only 17% latinx students have a degree, while over 50% of white people do. that gives California a staggering 34 point gap. in West Virginia only 24% of black students have a degree, while 48% white students do….. that gives them a 24 point gap. according to that source, the gap actually seems to be growing wider…. but wait!!! there’s more!!! the policy affirmative action trump is trying to take on is actually beneficial to white women!! affirmative action literally helped more white women graduate.
so all this being said,… no. colleges are not “discriminating against whites”. providing scholarship opportunities for minorities is not “discriminating”, providing housing for different cultures is not “discriminating”, and making sure black students get the same opportunity as white students is NOT “discriminating”. trump is obviously trying to make sure colleges stay white because he’s not about that diversity life. stop whining about how minorities have this huge fantasy advantage when it comes to college, go to a top tier school and you’ll barely see any of us.
Guess who benefits from these policies the most? WHITE. WOMEN.
